What does PVD treated mean? A PVD finish or coating, is short for Physical Vapour Deposition. It is a high-tech vacuum deposition process where the coating material transfers on a single atom or molecule level, which provides an extremely pure and high-performance coating.

What is the difference between a wall basin mixer and wall bath mixer? The difference between the two is the amount of water flow. A wall basin mixer has a restricted water flow and a wall bath mixer is free flowing.
How do I determine if a LINSOL toilet is a suitable replacement for my existing toilet? There are two critical measurements required to determine whether you can use certain toilets. You need to know the distance between the wall to the centre of the waste outlet; and the location of the water inlet measured by its distance off the ground and distance from the centre of the toilet. Many of LINSOL’s toilets are “universal” and will offer the largest chance of a direct swap over.
What happens if the backing plate on my wall top assemblies or wall mixer are not big enough? For a large part of our range, LINSOL holds “trouble domes”. These domes have a larger diameter than the started size and can help rectify problems like tile cut outs bigger than required.
Will my LINSOL tapware work with a gravity fed system? LINSOL tapware has not been tested to work with Gravity Fed Systems. You may find our tapware will work with Gravity fed water, with some exceptions: The water flow and pressure will not be anywhere near as strong as what you would have with mains pressure. The other problem you might face is, if there is debris in the water tank it might damage the cartridge if it’s not filtered. LINSOL tapware is not designed to work with incoming water pressures below 150kpa.
Can I use any type of cartridge for my mixer? There are many ceramic cartridges available on the market and the majority of them vary in design. You should always use the cartridges from the company that manufacture that tap. We hold spare and replacement parts for all our mixers and can find them for purchase through retailers, our website or call us if you need help identifying the correct fit.

Can I Install my Heated Towel Rail upside down? There is no reason why you can’t install the Heated Rail upside down. It does not affect the way the unit functions.
Can I Install my heated Towel Rail myself? LINSOL Heated Towel rails have been designed to be Installed Hardwired and/or Softwired. The only time that you can install a rail yourself is, if you are plugging it to an existing power point. This is the only time you can do it as a DIY installation. Any other forms of installation can only be carried out by a licensed Electrician.
Can my Heated Towel Rail be hardwired? LINSOL heated Towel Rails can be broken into 2 categories; 240v Rails and 12v Rails. All 240v Heated Towel rails can be hardwired and soft wired. As 12v Heated Towel Rails require a transformer, they are only available in Hardwire option.

Why is there 5 stumps included in my Heated Towel Rail kit? There are 5 stumps in the kit to accommodate for Hardwiring and Soft wiring options. 3 of the stumps will remain the same while the 4th will be change based on whether the rail is hard or soft wired.
How do I turn a heated rail On and Off? There are multiple ways of doing this. For a soft wire installation, simply plug your 240v cable into the powerpoint and use the associated switch. For a hardwire installation, you can have your Electrician connect the heated towel rail to a simple on and off switch. Alternatively a thermostat controller with a built in timer can be used, which is available in our range. This is a more efficient way of doing it, as you can set it to turn on and off at time intervals of your choosing, and you are always going to have a warm and dry towel.
Can I use a Heated Towel Rail just as a towel ladder? There is no reason why you can’t, you just don’t use the electrical connections. There are also some rails in the LINSOL range which are non-heated.

While the “Brushed Nickel” is achieved by hand brushing the raw steel. As these 2 finishes are what we refer to as “Raw Finishes” you can use a non-abrasive polish and/or a micro fibre cloth. With the remaining colour treated Heated Towel Rails you should use a microfibre cloth with warm water, no cleansers.

What is the operating water pressure of LINSOL tapware? Appliances and certain plumbing fixtures suffer the most with high pressure water. To meet Australian Standards, the maximum water pressure for residential homes is 500kpa (kilopascals). Some homes in Australia, more often than not, are well above 500kpa; in some cases, above 1000. This becomes a problem because it may void warranty.

What can I do if my spindles on my wall top assemblies are too short. There are spindle extensions available. 15mm in length, these can be found under spare parts on the LINSOL website. You may also need to consider an extended locking nut, as the further you spindle is into the wall cavity, the shorter the thread reachable front of wall. Any longer than 15mm you should use a body extension which are readily available at plumbing supplies stores.
